The Botany

The official opening ceremony for the Botany Estate project, a 35 unit residential development for Maryhill Housing Association, was held on Thursday 12th March 2009. Officiated by Lord Provost Robert Winter, the opening ceremony marked the official launch of construction work which, on completion will see a number of former tenants re-housed back into this historic Glasgow community. Willy Briody, director of Maryhill Housing Association, said: "New homes for The Botany are great news for Maryhill and for the people who live here. This development will transform a location of huge historical significance to this community. We are proud to be at the forefront of this transformation and readily acknowledge the support of our partners in the ongoing drive to regenerate Maryhill." The project also marks the first phase of a wider Masterplan for the Botany and Maryhill Locks.
